Steps to Jailbreak iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch 3G with Spirit Untethered
Requirements:
- 3.1.3 firmware installed on the device (download from here)
- iTunes 9.1.1 (download from here)
- Spirit Jailbreak tool for Windows and Mac (downloaded from here)
Step 1: Download Spirit from here and save it on your iPhone and extract it.

Step 2: Launch Spirit app by clicking the icon created from the extraction.

Step 3: You will see a similar window as below. Click on the “Jailbreak” button appearing.

Spirit can give some problems on some versions of the Windows operating system. In particular, you might see the error dl.exe stopped workingThat will stop the process of jailbreak. Let’s see how to solve.

Right-click the mouse on the Spirit, and then click Properties. Navigate to Compatibility tab and select from the “Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 98 / Windows Me”. Also select “Run this program as administrator” then click OK. Spirit put to restart and you’ll no longer have any kind of problem.


Step 4: You will see a message “Jailbreaking” and after one second will read “succeeded Jailbreak!”

Step 5: At this point, wait for the iPhone to automatically reboot and Cydia icon will appear on springboard.
Note : Make sure to back up your iPhone, iTouch or iPad as Spirit is in beta version, so there can be possibility for some packages to be not working properly. Also make sure iTunes version 9 or above should be installed on the idevice.
